Manon Garritsen graduated with a Masters degree in urbanism from Delft University of Technology in 2001 and 5 years later as fashion designer from Artemis Styling Academy in Rotterdam. After 8 years work experience as urban designer, time had come to translate the inspiration and many random ideas to a new label: manon. Clear, practical and stylish design characterizes the work of Manon Garritsen.

 

‘The interface between the design processes of the urban and the fashion designer fascinates me. The main similarity is that the designer envisions the future user during the design process. The design shouldn’t just be desirable and stylish, but should be equally practical, comfortable and sustainable. In the perspective of sustainability I truly believe in timeless and lasting design. A product should survive the user!’

 

The latest collection released under the manon label consists of A3 bags, covers for the iPhone, iPad and MacBook. Manon Garritsen works mainly with natural materials such as woollen felt, leather and cotton.
